To the Philbrick Family Dr. Philbrick was an amazing woman. I had the esteem privilege of being in her class at Savannah State University. She was a very caring and giving person. I often showered her with cinnamon rolls, which she absolutely loved. I remember bring cinnamon rolls to her home when she was recovering from an illness. She insisted that I not make the trip, but I wanted her to have something sweet. I would like to express my deepest sympathy to her husband and son. She spoke of you often and it placed a warm smile on her face. This is truly heaven's reward, yet our loss. Jane and I were new friends, but we bonded quickly when she became my mentor after I began teaching in the College of Business Administration at SSU. Somehow, I felt more connected and comfortable when she took on that role for me. It was as if I had someone 'watching my back' all the time. We also had a few laughs and that was wonderful. We wrote an abstract together and it has been submitted. I intend to go ahead and finish the paper to honor her and her contribution to my development as well as her immense contribution to the school. My sincere condolences to the entire family during this time. May time enable you to remember only the positive of your lives together and not the pain of the last few weeks. Becky

Jane was a wonderful example of a dedicated teacher. I remember seeing her present about how she helped her students to learn difficult subjects at a SEDSI meeting. I remember one member of the audience noting that they were amazed at the amount of time and effort she spent for the students. She touched my life and I was inspired to be a better teacher by her dedication and her commitment to her students. Jane will be missed deeply and I know her students are better people for all her efforts.

Becky
